I've spent 15 years at the intersection of equity, data, and organizational change - not as a researcher studying organizations from the outside, but as a founder who has built companies, grown movements, and done the hard operational work of turning strategy into action. I've made payroll. I've navigated boards. I've watched well-resourced organizations waste the very resources they were given because they were optimizing for the wrong outcomes.
